Handsam Ltd Have Updated the Tasklist Compliance System to Reflect the Requirements of New Legislation and Guidance.
There are two new tasks that have been added, that will need to be assigned to relevant staff to evidence as being delivered:
Then, various other tasks relating to Security have been updated to refer to the new Martyn's Law, officially the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.
The new RSHE guidance has seen one task updated to read:
Annual: Ensure statutory requirements for Health Education are included in appropriate departmental schemes of work. The statutory guidance 'Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE/RSHE)' (updated from 1st September 2025) and 'Health Education (2019)' both require all schools to follow the guidance. The national curriculum scheme is set out in ‘Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE)’ (see attached).
And one final task has been updated to now read:
Annual: Arrange safeguarding and/or physical restraint training for new staff and any staff who need to be up-dated, in accordance with the DfE's guidance on 'Use of Reasonable Force in Schools'.
There is an expectation that the DfE will publish their long-awaited updated guidance on 'Use of Reasonable Force in Schools' very shortly. Handsam will update clients as soon as this has been published, including providing an analysis of what the updates mean to schools and academies.
Updated tasks will remain assigned to the user they were already assigned to.
Please review your tasklist and ensure these changes are adopted. You can also take the opportunity to re-assign tasks to new staff at your school or academy as needed.
